The Dead Sea
The Dead Sea sits roughly 430 metres below sea level, on the border between Jordan and Israel. Nothing flows out of it; water only evaporates. That is why it holds about ten times more mineral salt than ordinary seawater.
A different mineral profile
Ocean water is mostly sodium chloride. Dead Sea water is dominated by magnesium, potassium, calcium and bromide — the minerals that matter most for skin. This is the reason people have travelled there for skin and joint care for thousands of years.
Why it works on skin
- Magnesium — supports the skin barrier and helps it retain moisture.
- Calcium — part of the skin's natural renewal cycle.
- Potassium — helps regulate moisture balance.
- Bromide — traditionally used in calming preparations.
How we use it
We do not simply add salt. Our supplier concentrates the mineral fraction and removes most of the sodium, so the formulas deliver the useful minerals without the drying effect of raw salt. The concentrate is then blended into each of the six products at a level chosen for that format — lighter in the shower gel and shampoo, richer in the body lotion and hand balm.
